Our pastoral programmes, underpinned by traditional values, help our students to develop into well-balanced young adults.
We are a self-evaluating community with high aspirations constantly seeking to advance and improve. Strong and determined leadership and teamwork have helped us to maintain and build upon our high standards. We are friendly, caring and ambitious, placing the academic progress and welfare of our students at the heart of everything we do.

Values and vision: Wilmington Academy aims to be an outstanding, inclusive learning community where everyone feels safe and valued. It aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people, who help to create a more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.
The academy comprises three colleges – Minerva, Apollo and Jupiter – designed around community, relationships, respect and high aspirations. While the vision and values are the same, each college has its own leadership, student services team and administration.
The secondary school believes that its personalised approach to learning means that no student gets left behind. It aims to be a reflective, outward-facing community, constantly reviewing its successes and adapting to bring about improvements.
