A dystopian future, humans are forbidden to build automatons, as they pose a threat to humanity.
Frank Stein, a brilliant young scientist has other ideas and covertly constructs a Humanoid; but Frank’s optimistic plans to save humanity start to unravel as the ‘Creature’ sets out to destroy all that is dear to Frank.
Loosely based on what is considered by man to be the first science fiction novels, ‘Frank Stein 2040’, the play has been adapted and reworked for the stage with for youth theatres and school drama departments with limited budgets. Originally written for and performed by the Titchfield Youth Theatre in Hampshire [2021]. It is intended to encompass a range of styles and foster dramatic
creativity.
The play allows for a range of design ideas for stage, sound & lighting; essentially the play is adaptable, allowing your school or youth theatre to stage it in the way that suits budgets and practicability.
The script includes suggestions for design and stage directions to help the actor and director. It also includes images from the original production. Buy one copy and copy as many times as you wish.
