Two lesson sequence teaching the Russian alphabet suitable as a first/introductory lesson for KS2, KS3 and KS4. Introduces both sounds and spelling, as well as introducing yourself to others. Each lesson includes three part lesson objectives in English.
Introduction of letters done by similarity to English. Activities include: decoding cognates, near cognates, spelling proper nouns (e.g. student’s names), unscrambling cognates in Russian, single word dictation, conversation.
Worksheets/Print outs are located at the end of the slide with instructions for how many to print per student. Only changes needed are adding in the relevant date for the lesson.
