Notes, slides and activities.
This lesson (approx. two lessons) focuses upon different ways of measuring unemployment - claimant count and the UK Labour Force Survey (using the ILO definition of unemployment).
This lesson analyses the effectiveness of both counts and explores JSA for vital application.
The effects of unemployment upon mental health are also discussed, as well as the concept of ‘hysteresis’ to challenge the most able.

Slides are engaging, colourful and construct diagrams using a step-by-step method, so that concepts are more accessible for students.
Teacher written notes are specific to Edexcel and expand upon the content in the slides.
Resources use contemporary, real-life examples to bring the theory to life.
