I have created a powerpoint that helps students to answer a 6 mark question

"Sodium chloride is an ionic compound, containing sodium ions, Na+, and chloride ions, Cl–. Figure 10 shows the electronic configuration of sodium and chlorine.Explain how sodium and chlorine atoms form the ions in sodium chloride and how the ions are arranged in the solid sodium chloride. You may wish to use diagrams in your answer.

The powerpoint has an attached A3 work sheet that has broken the question down into 5 mini questions. The Aim is to complete this work sheet with the help of the powerpoint and the science text book in order to be able to answer the 6 mark question at the end of the lesson.

This uses metacognition. recall, instruct, model, Guide, practice and reflect
