Celebrate ADHD Awareness Month with this complete KS2 whole-school assembly pack, designed to help pupils understand ADHD in a clear, age-appropriate and sensitive way.
This resource focuses on understanding, inclusion and practical support. It avoids encouraging pupils to diagnose themselves or others and carefully challenges stereotypes without presenting ADHD as either simply a problem or a “superpower”.
The pack includes a 33-slide assembly, a detailed teacher guide with full speaker script, safeguarding and delivery guidance, and a six-page follow-up activity pack.

The assembly is designed for approximately 25–30 minutes and explores:

  • what ADHD is and what the letters ADHD stand for;
  • how ADHD may affect attention, organisation, activity levels, impulse control, remembering instructions and getting started;
  • why ADHD does not look the same in everyone;
  • why someone with ADHD can still concentrate deeply;
  • task initiation and why “not starting” does not necessarily mean laziness;
  • impulsivity and why behaviour may have different explanations;
  • common ADHD myths and misconceptions;
  • why labels such as “lazy”, “naughty” or “not trying” can be unhelpful;
  • possible strengths some people with ADHD may describe;
  • fairness, inclusion and why different pupils may need different support;
  • practical classroom strategies such as clear instructions, checklists, movement opportunities, visual reminders and quieter working spaces;
  • three pupil-friendly scenario challenges exploring what support might help;
  • how classmates can be supportive without trying to manage another pupil;
  • why pupils should not diagnose ADHD in themselves or others;
  • what to do if a pupil recognises some of the experiences discussed;
  • how classrooms can become more inclusive;
  • a simple inclusion strategy: Notice • Wonder • Support.

The assembly finishes with the message:
Different brains. Different needs. Same right to belong.

The teacher guide includes a full slide-by-slide script, timings, discussion prompts, safeguarding guidance, language guidance, support for pupils with ADHD or SEND, and adaptations for younger and older KS2 pupils.

The follow-up pupil pack includes:
ADHD Myth or Fact?
Look Beyond the Behaviour
What Might Help?

Different People, Different Support
My Inclusion Pledge
