Creative Writing Writing to Describe Using Features Vocabulary Expanding GCSE

A selection of worksheets and activities to help students with descriptive writing / creative writing.

Includes:

• Writing to describe information sheet (great for introducing descriptive writing).
• A table containing descriptive words - students are encouraged to use given words in a sentence and add synonyms, to expand vocabulary.
• Cut Out Task - Students are given a selection of words to cut out and then: add the appropriate word to a list of given sentences or sentences given by the teacher / add words to a brainstorm. Can also be used for spelling tests.
• Describing Using Senses Quick Task / Warm-Up - students are given some places/events to describe using the senses.
• 3 x Describing using features worksheets - Students are given a picture to describe and are encouraged to create a word bank and use various features that would be suitable (great for GCSE exam practice).

Created for GCSE students but would be great for any year at high school or A-Level.
