Drama Taster Session / Transition Activities

This is a tailor made and bespoke KS3 Drama Taster Session / Transition Activities for Year 5/6 transition day. The powerpoint includes activities of a planned 1 hour session based on the theme of ‘Little People, Big Dreams’.

• In the session students will discuss dreams and aspirations they have for starting Secondary School and work together as a group to bring these to life.

• There are a number of warm up activities / drama games included which can be played to get to know students - all of which have instructions for non-specialist teachers if needed.

• The session links to the play Ernie’s Incredible Illucinations by Alan Ackbourne and uses the opening speech as inspiration for students to create their own dream sequence using Drama Conventions.

• The Powerpoint is all my own work, used and developed over a number of years in Year 6 Transition days and has been adapted for ease for non-specialist teachers. It can be edited to personalise to your own school / trust.
