In this teaching pack, children will learn about the acclaimed fashion designer Duro Olowu and explore the use of pattern, colour and texture. This planning is designed to take place over 5 lessons so can be done over one or two days blocked out, or over the course of a term in weekly sessions.

The outcome of this teaching pack is that the children will have a thorough understanding of what it means to be a designer; explored the work of Duro Olowu as a prominent Black British designer; and they will have created their own bag with a unique applique design using colourful prints.
