If like me your students are struggling to know what to write on each tariff question, for how long to write and what to include, then this is the resource for you. Ideal for lamination, I place these laminated mats before learners when they plan a response to a SAMS question and also provide them during timed mocks to aid knowledge and understanding.

This resource has been completely designed based upon the mixed ability feedback my team and I have received from my 12 KEY STAGE 4 COHORTS (4 groups in each year group 9-11) . They have been such a success/ the student comments and exam results have been so positive, that I have decided to do the same for my AS and A2 cohorts and for both Component 1 and 2 (please reference shop when these become available/ if you are interested).

The two, double-sided A3 resources (4 A3 pages in total) cover

-Exam timings
-How to approach the Exam timings and questions
-Exemplar responses and/or advice on how to tackle all tariff questions
-How to use the Command words and utilize your note-taking time in the exam.
-3 full exemplars (2 on Tv Crime, 1 on Music Videos) and how to start off a 20 marker for the Top Bands.

And more.

Whilst the resource is easily adaptable it is important to note that the set texts/ what the exemplars are based on is:

-TV CRIME
-BAD BLOOD, UPTOWN FUNK AND BLACK OR WHITE

I have gotten my students to print these out for their records and get them to actively use them when written extended pieces/ mocks. Moreover, I would recommend have a couple of sets laminated and treasury tagged together to all offer as additional differentiated support.

NOTE: All task sheets, differentiated resources and audio/visual stimuli are included within the lesson.

NOTE: I am following EDUQAS Teaching Model 1 in my teaching/ SOW and my school is only providing Media Studies as a three year GCSE Course. If you liked this resource and found it useful, it would be greatly appreciated if you could feedback or rate my resource as I am constantly trying to adapt and refine my resources to improve the learning of my students. Many thanks.
