This is a glossary booklet used to improve the literacy of your Higher History students studying Part D (Migration and Empire, 1830- 1939) in the Source Paper.

In the exam, your students are expected to read chunks of source material and this glossary is one tool towards improving their language skills.

Words have been chosen from the 4 key issues and have appeared in either the past papers or textbooks.

I have been using this for 4 years and find it a really good way of introducing a pop quiz element that stays similar through the year, improving confidence and literacy of my learners. Also a good aid for monitoring progression (handy for report season!).

This pack includes the print out glossary for the student, the answer booklet for the teacher and the quiz sheet that can be printed for use whenever you feel the need to quiz.

Best used as an ongoing revision tool.
