Unit: Algebraic Techniques (Sub Topic of ‘Working with Functions’).

This resource contains 5 practice sets of 9-10 questions each. The questions cover a range of dot points from the Algebraic Techniques syllabus, including:

  • use index laws to simplify expressions
  • expand, factorise and simplify algebraic expressions
  • simplify expressions involving algebraic fractions
  • simplify expressions involving surds
  • rationalising the denominator
  • solve quadratic equations by factorisation, completing the square and using the quadratic formula
  • using the discriminant to solve problems
