Inclusion Policy Framework for Schools

Based on the SEND & AP Improvement Plan and Emerging SEND Reforms

This policy sets out the school’s commitment to being a genuinely inclusive setting where every child and young person is welcomed, valued, and supported to participate fully in school life. Grounded in the Department for Education’s SEND and Alternative Provision Improvement Plan (2023), the SEND and AP Green Paper, and the emerging direction of the SEND White Paper, this framework reflects the government’s core vision: delivering the right support, in the right place, at the right time. Inclusion is the shared responsibility of every member of staff and is embedded within teaching, learning, leadership, curriculum design, pastoral support, and partnerships with families.

This policy is aligned with the emerging SEND White Paper reforms, which set out a renewed national commitment to inclusive mainstream education, ordinarily available provision, and the proposed Experts at Hand model.
