Hello and welcome to the first edition of the food shops in French!

The first edition is about at the sweet shop (à la confiserie)

The children will learn about different sweets in French and there are a lot of activities which reinforces and consolidation of the vocabulary. They will also leanr about the verbs ‘je veux’, ‘tu veux’, ‘je vais’, ‘tu vas’ and the preposition ‘de’ There are also differentiated stories which the children can read and answer questions on. Accompanied with the powerpoint, are differentiated workbooks with lots of activities and a colourful classroom display of the partitive and quantitative articles ‘de’.

The level 1 workbook is the lower level workbook and the level 2 one is the higher level one. In both the lower level and the higher level workbooks, the children will learn about the partitive and quantative article ‘de’. In the higher level workbook only, children of higher level ability will become acquainted with terms such as the prepositions ‘y’ and ‘en’.

In the workbooks, the activities are as follows:

Pages 2-8 (2-10 in level 2) - colour in the pictures (which children love doing!!)
Pages 9-27 (11-29 in level 2) - cut out the squares and paste them onto the masculine, feminine and plural partitive and quantitative article pages
Pages 28-34 (30-37 in level 2) - read the story and then answer the questions
Pages 35-36 (38-39 in level 2) - go over the practice words ‘je veux’, ‘tu veux’, ‘je vais’, ‘tu vas’
Page 37 (40-42 in level 2) - choose the correct answers
Page 38 (43 in level 2) - listening comprehension - you can call out the vocabulary and the children match up the question number to the correct item
