This cross-curricular, 3 worksheet pack enables children to learn all about Planet Earth at different scales and view points and use this knowledge to inspire poetry.
Children will use locational knowledge and place knowledge at different scales of view point and represent their learning using drawings. These pictures are then used to inspire the gathering of descriptive vocabulary and phrases which they then go on to use in the writing of a poem.
This worksheet pack compliments atlas based work, library research or internet research, but can also be used in conjunction with Google Earth for a very engaging input.
Designed for KS2 but could suit a higher ability Year 1 or 2 class as differentiated by outcome.
