A complete KS3 Design & Technology project that develops basic knowledge of materials and processes. It involves the manufacture of an Acrylic, Pine and Pewter set of key fobs. Using casting, press forming and hand skills. Students also make a key house to hold their keys which focuses on using technical drawings and shaping Acrylic with a strip heater.

It has been created using the DATA KS3 skills audits as a starting point but uses my own Assessment Criteria grid based on the ‘Life without Levels’ programme.

CAD/CAM, 2D Design, workshop skills are also integrated.

My students love this project and can be used flexibly to fit the length of rotations you have or number of lessons you have a week.

The Powerpoint is very large so I have compressed it. All videos should work though and the quality has not been affected.
