This Scheme of Work has been created to meet the teaching requirements of the new NSW Geography 7-10 Syllabus (2024), which is being implemented from 2027.

The unit covers the Stage 4 focus area Landscapes and Landforms and has been designed around the knowledge, geographical concepts, inquiry skills, tools and outcomes required by the new specification.

This SoW is detailed, differentiated and engaging, allowing teachers to move students through the content efficiently while developing both geographical knowledge and extended writing. Lessons use a consistent I Do, We Do, You Do structure and include retrieval practice, explicit instruction, structured discussion and independent application.

Created to a high standard using current educational research, dual coding and retrieval practice are embedded throughout the unit. A consistent colour scheme, lesson structure and writing framework also run across the sequence to support teacher delivery and student comprehension.
