Attached are two sessions which are an introduction to Bronfenbrenner and the ecology of human development, for level 5 students, on their second year of their undergraduate degree. Although pitched at level 5, this can easily be applied to students studying at level 2/3/4.

These sessions are delivered within a sociology module, considering equity in education. The first session does not cover Bronfenrenner’s ecology of human development theory; it is for students to reflect on their own eudcational timeline. The first session is not required for the second session, unless you wish to complete the activity at the end of session 2.

In session 2 the lesson looks at the development of Bronfebrenner’s theoretical perspective, the five different systems and any possible limitations.
