This project is designed to focus on wooden joints and electronics. Students create their box using a lap joint. They then design and make an acrylic top that sits on to of the box using 3mm bolts. The acrylic tabs are bent at 90 degrees using either a strip heater or a pair of acrylic benders.

The circuit is very simple and we use 12v type N batteries and battery holders as they are compact. Could easily use 2 AA batteries and not use a resistor for the 5v LED.

Pupils choose from using a colour changing LED or a super bright White LED.
