This creative lesson PowerPoint introduces students to the expressive mixed-media work of Loui Jover. The lesson begins with a focused “First 5” starter task, followed by clear background information on Jover’s distinctive style, including his use of vintage book pages, ink portraiture and layered imagery.
Students then complete a structured three-page sketchbook project. On the first page, they illustrate a personal interest or hobby. This is carefully cut out and layered over a second page featuring a detailed biro self-portrait. On the third page, students create an expressive, text-based or painterly background inspired by Jover’s aesthetic, bringing the composition together as a cohesive layered piece.
The PowerPoint provides step-by-step guidance and visual examples to support outcomes. Ideal for secondary art lessons, this resource develops observational drawing skills, personal response, and confidence in mixed-media experimentation.

This lesson could be staggered over 3-4 lessons if required
