Mental and oral starters for Year 2 Summer Teaching Sequence 10.
Add/subtract two-digit numbers by adding/subtracting multiples of ten then ones (e.g. find 45 + 23 by adding 20 then 3). Use addition facts for all numbers up to ten to find multiples of ten, e.g. 5 + 2 = 7 so 50 + 20 = 70. To use addition facts for all numbers up to 10 to find pairs of multiples of 10. E.g. Use 5+2 to find 50 +20. Knowing doubles up to 6 + 6. Knowing doubles up to 5 + 5 and the corresponding multiples of ten doubles up to 50 + 50. To find doubles up to double fifteen. To find doubles of multiples of five up to fifty. To find doubles up to double 15 and find doubles of multiples of 5 up to double 50.
