This lesson moves students on from the basics of coding and using variables in Python and begins to introduce them to string manipulation. With this lesson, students will learn how to access each element in a string via its index as well as how to iterate through each element. Numerous string manipulation methods are covered in this lesson, some of which include .upper(), isupper(), .count() etc……

Students are expected to have some prior knowledge of Python and should be comfortable with the following concepts:
• Creating and using variables
• If statements
• Loops
• Print and input functions
• Lists

This is a fun and engaging manner to teach students how to manipulate strings in Python as well as the functions associated with string manipulation.
