Powerpoint presentation for the Year 4 unit - What faiths make up our community? (based on Leeds RE Syllabus unit 4.4 Beliefs, Philosophy & Ethics)
Created for the first lesson in this unit (with cross curricular activities incorporated - English & Drama) The lesson has been split into 4 parts…mini-teach then activity. Four activities included with worksheets available at the end of the powerpoint.
Lesson 1 (@1 1/2 hour - could be split into 2 shorter sessions - dependent on chn’s abilities!)
Learning Objectives:
Use a dictionary to find a word definition (English)(Activity-worksheet)
Identify groups you belong to. (Activity-worksheet)
Discuss what being part of a community means.
Identify ways of showing you belong to a community. (Activity-worksheet)
Show how you would welcome someone into your community (Drama-provide photo evidence)

Could also be used to introduce term ‘Community’ to Year 3 & possibly Year 2.
