Explore the features, objects and decoration found within Islamic sacred spaces with this beautifully designed classroom display resource.

Part of the Sacred Spaces collection, this pack introduces pupils to key features they may see or encounter in and around a mosque, explaining their purpose and significance within Islamic worship. Each card combines a clear illustration with accessible explanatory text, making the resource ideal for classroom displays, RE teaching, revision areas and learning environments.

The pack includes a large Sacred Spaces: Islam - Mosque centrepiece alongside 12 matching information cards covering the Mihrab, Qibla Wall, Minbar, Qur’an, Qur’an Stand, Prayer Mats, Wudu Area, Shoe Area, Arabic Calligraphy, Geometric Patterns, Minaret and Dome.

Pupils can explore how the design of a mosque supports Muslim worship, from facing the qibla during salah and the use of the mihrab and minbar, to preparation for prayer through wudu. The resource also introduces architectural and decorative features such as minarets, domes, Arabic calligraphy and geometric patterns.

The cards acknowledge that mosques around the world vary in their architecture and design, helping pupils understand that features such as domes, minarets and dedicated wudu facilities may be found in many mosques but are not universal.

Designed with a consistent, museum-inspired aesthetic, the cards can be arranged around the central Mosque display to suit your available space. Try connecting the cards to the centrepiece using coloured string or ribbon to create an eye-catching Sacred Spaces feature wall.

Ideal for KS2, KS3 and KS4 Religious Education, Islam units, places of worship topics, mosque visit preparation and follow-up, classroom and corridor displays, revision areas and whole-school RE displays.

Sacred Spaces: Complete RE Display Bundle - Six World Religions

Explore the sacred spaces, objects, symbols and features of six major world religions with this complete classroom display collection. The Sacred Spaces Complete Bundle brings together all six resources in the series, giving pupils an accessible and visually consistent introduction to the places of worship they may study or visit in Religious Education. Included in this bundle are Christianity - Church, Islam - Mosque, Judaism - Synagogue, Sikhism - Gurdwara, Hinduism - Mandir, and Buddhism - Temple. Each religion has its own large illustrated Sacred Spaces centrepiece, surrounded by individual information cards exploring important features, objects, architecture and elements of worship. Across the complete collection, you will receive 6 large centrepieces and 68 illustrated information cards. The cards introduce pupils to subject-specific religious vocabulary while explaining not simply what an object or feature is, but why it matters within the relevant religious tradition. Topics range from the altar, Bible and baptismal font within Christianity to the mihrab and Qur’an within Islam, the Torah scrolls and Aron HaKodesh within Judaism, the Guru Granth Sahib and langar hall within Sikhism, murtis and puja within Hinduism, and stupas, meditation and Buddha images within Buddhism. Care has been taken throughout the collection to acknowledge diversity within religions. The resources avoid suggesting that every sacred space looks or functions in exactly the same way and introduce differences between traditions where these are important to pupils’ understanding. Designed with a coordinated museum-inspired aesthetic, each religion has its own muted colour palette while retaining the same typography, illustration style and layout across the complete collection. This allows individual sets to be displayed separately or combined to create a large, cohesive Sacred Spaces RE display. For an eye-catching classroom or corridor display, place each large centrepiece at the centre of its section and arrange the corresponding information cards around it. Coloured string or ribbon can be used to connect the cards to each sacred space, creating an engaging visual map for pupils to explore. Ideal for KS3 Religious Education, world religions units, places of worship topics, preparation for educational visits, retrieval and revision displays, classroom and corridor displays, comparison activities and whole-school RE environments. The six religion packs are also available separately for schools wishing to purchase only the traditions relevant to their curriculum.
