This is a whole lesson on Simultaneous Equations by Substitution. This is the second lesson looking at the concept of simultaneous equations and teaching how to solve using a Substitution Method. This lesson does NOT look at non-linear functions as the method of rearranging is tricky and needs practise and therefore, non-linear functions are saved until lesson 4. The lesson does go through rearranging clearly, substitution and solving and has plenty of examples and questions. This lesson is ready to go, with no prep required. It is also great for home learning. 20 slide presentation + supplementary resources.

The lesson includes:

  • Starter
  • Lesson Objectives (differentiated)
  • Keywords
  • superb teaching slides
  • lots of examples
  • great opportunities for AFL
  • Embedded questions (with answers)
  • Worksheet (with answers) - often used for Homework
  • Plenary

ALL LESSONS on Simultaneous Equations are available as a BUNDLE from the link below or ALL LESSONS on Algebra in one BIG Bundle:
