Sound boxes are a hands-on way for children to learn how to read and spell. Use these CCVC word and CVCC word cards with non-fiction real life photos to practice mapping sounds.

Using sound boxes will help your students build their phonological awareness skills. They will help students identify the individual sounds making it easier for them to spell and read both CCVC and CVCC words correctly.

Ask your students to tap a dot under each sound box as they say each sound when they say and stretch out the word. Then using magnetic letters or letter tiles, have them build the word. Once they have built the CCVC or CVCC word encourage them to slide their finger across the card to read the word helping them to build their decoding skills.

With over 40 words included, all with real life photos, these CCVC and CVCC Word Cards are perfect for whole group, small group and reading intervention!

Here’s what’s included -

  • 40+ cards with real life photo of a CCVC or CVCC word, four equal sized sound boxes and four dots to tap to map out the sounds
