This is a 3-day project (for 50-minute classes) where students create their own "Dream House" floor plan. They use an internet website that creates floor plans for free, is user-friendly, and allows them to label all their rooms and furniture in Spanish. Students can have fun with a floor plan program, while also demonstrating their understanding of rooms of the house and furniture vocabulary.
A Rubric and Checklist for the project, directions for students for how to create their floor plans, graph paper for rough drafts, and a Teacher's Guide with suggestions and instructions on how to ensure each student is successful are all included.
This project could be modified to include extra vocabulary (chores or anything else house-related) and could also be used for another language!
