Spooky Spanish: Devils, Dragons & Fire!
An interactive, homework-ready KS3 Spanish activity on the Catalan correfoc, a fire-run with devils and dragons: texts, worksheet, answers. Y7–8.
Run with the devils!
In Catalonia, a correfoc (“fire-run”) fills the streets at night with devils, fire-breathing dragons, fireworks and pounding drums, while the crowd runs and dances under the sparks. This short resource introduces it to Year 7–8 using simple present-tense Spanish, and it takes 15–20 minutes.
Three quick tasks on the interactive page:
• Lee y descubre: two short texts with tap-to-translate words and audio, then true/false questions.
• ¿Qué llevo al correfoc?: choose the safe clothes to wear, based on real safety advice. Then give advice with Tienes que llevar… / No debes llevar…, and the page spots dangerous advice.
• Mis sentidos: describe a correfoc with veo, oigo, huelo. The page checks that your sentences make sense.

Perfect for homework: each task reveals letters of a secret code. Students write it on their worksheet, so you can see at a glance who finished.
Language covered: clothes, llevar, advice with tienes que / no debes, the senses (veo, oigo, huelo) and a little Catalan (foc = fire).
Flexible use: homework, a starter or plenary, a cover lesson, or a Halloween-season activity in class. It also fits clothes and festivals topics.
