A simple and easy to use Spring art pack for KS2. Includes 5 lessons. Minimal mess and prep. No art experience required.

THE 5 LESSONS:
Lesson 1: Spring Flower Drawing — Detailed Observation
Pupils create a beautiful botanical-style drawing of a real spring flower, learning to observe carefully before drawing, vary their line quality, and build colour from light to dark. Inspired by Georgia O’Keeffe and the tradition of botanical illustration.
Lesson 2: Spring Animal Art — Baby Animals
Pupils draw and paint a baby spring animal — lamb, duckling, fox cub, fawn or chick — learning how to capture the softness, large eyes and fluffy texture that makes baby animals so irresistible. Includes the one technique that transforms every animal drawing instantly.
Lesson 3: Colour Mixing — Spring Colour Wheel and Palette
A complete colour theory lesson using spring as the inspiration. Pupils mix primary, secondary and tertiary colours, explore tints and shades, and design their own personal spring palette with poetically named colour swatches — finishing with a mini painting using their limited palette.
Lesson 4: Nature Sketching — Outdoor Observational Drawing
Pupils develop real sketching skills through direct observation of the natural world — leaves, twigs, bark, buds and spring plants. Can be taught outdoors or with specimens brought inside. Inspired by the great tradition of naturalist field artists.
Lesson 5: Cherry Blossom — Japanese Inspired Branch Art
Pupils create a stunning ink and blossom artwork inspired by Japanese Sumi-e painting and the cultural tradition of hanami. Three accessible blossom methods are included so every pupil can achieve a beautiful result — fingerprint, tissue paper or fine brush.

EVERY LESSON INCLUDES:
Step-by-step teacher instructions — clear and detailed enough for any teacher to pick up and deliver brilliantly, no art experience required
Pupil instruction card — display on the board or print for desks
Full SEN differentiation guide — covering fine motor needs, visual processing difficulties, autism and sensory needs, and lower attaining pupils
2 extension activities per lesson, each with an Extra Challenge option for confident finishers.
Pupil self-assessment sheet with knowledge questions and written reflection
Teacher assessment grid with a full Beginning / Developing / Achieved rubric

ALSO INCLUDED: SPRING FACT SHEET
A beautifully written fact sheet covering the science and art of spring — what causes spring, spring in art history (Botticelli, Monet, Georgia O’Keeffe), spring flowers and their science, spring animals and life cycles, pollination, migration and more. Written accessibly for both teacher and pupil use.
