The Caste System and Equality

This is a double lesson (2 hours) on the caste system and equality with all resources for KS3. It is used in a Hinduism SOW but it can also be used in different ways. The first lesson focusses on a research task on the Caste System, with a series of big questions to consider as part of their research task. Ideally, this should be done with access to technology. All links are embedded and have been turned into QR codes as well if they need to be scanned for phones/Ipads (perfect for a homework task too!).

The second lesson is designed to explore the caste system a little further and make it more personal to them. There is then a debate activity to be completed with links embedded to help to create meaningful discussions around different areas of the world that create inequality. This includes exploring the ideas of equality from birth, depending on gender, wealth and whether offenders lives are equal to innocent life.
