One of the most challenging aspects of the SENCo role is trying to work out exactly where a students difficulties lie.

Teacher referrals often come with comments such as ‘I think he may be dyslexic’ ‘I don’t know what’s wrong but she won’t sit still!’.

These non-specific comments can make it hard to know where to start when it comes to pinpointing what help a student needs.

This Guide takes you through what educational testing can be done in school for a wide range of Neurodiversity’s, what the results tell you, and what the next steps in seeking a diagnosis would be.

It contains many of the resources needed to complete the testing, gather background information, and what questions you need to ask if you suspect a student is Neurodiverse.
