Unit A3: Working with Others deck, 20 slides in the same Level 1

What’s in it:

Introduction (4 slides): the box key, what makes a good (and bad) team with a starter task, and the evidence needed: a log or blog, a review and a tutor witness statement.
A: Teamwork (7 slides):
Talking vs listening, with the yes/no celebrity game.
Six steps for giving clear instructions, with the shoelace activity.
Five team roles, with how Jordan’s team shares out the work.
Helpful vs unhelpful behaviours, and adapting behaviour to different situations.
A five-step problem-solving flow with a realistic problem (a team member falls ill), plus the straw tower challenge.
How to keep a log or blog, with a model entry from Jordan.
B: Review (4 slides):
Giving feedback as What Went Well / Even Better If, and what makes feedback constructive.
Six steps for receiving feedback, with Aisha’s feedback to Jordan.
Strengths, weaknesses and next time, with sentence starters.
Jordan’s full review as a Distinction-level model that uses the feedback he received.
Review (4 slides): six assignment steps, the criteria at a glance, “I can” confidence statements and a “Well done” slide.

Activities: the slides include the spec’s suggested activities (the yes/no game, the shoelace instructions and the straw tower), and the teacher notes point to the rest, such as clips of poor teamwork from TV for the bad-team discussion.

Assessment notes: the teacher notes give the spec’s suggested time for each activity. They also point out that your centre sets the actual assignment, and that reviews can be written or recorded verbally.
