This is a two-lesson bundle aimed at year 9 pupils, it encourages them to engage with Christian prayer and should be used alongside the second lesson to fully explore and develop an understanding of Christian prayer and its meaning across the faith.

The first lesson takes an interdisciplinary angle, and has a historical perspective on how the practice of prayer and worship has changed since the middle ages compared to modern times. Pupils are shown a video on the topic of monasticism to explore the lifestyle lived by the monks and nuns of the era. Prayer for regular people is also explored as a ‘then vs. now’ comparison.

  • 38 slides total between both lessons
  • Key words and terms
  • Quizzing and recall exercises
  • Scenario/case study interpretative activity
  • x2 worksheets
