How it works: each sheet opens with a daily warm-up of 2 times-table facts, 1 doubling or halving and 1 known-fact question. Then come the week’s focus questions and spaced review: review questions always go to the facts practised least recently, so every fact returns every few school days for the rest of the term. Known-fact questions start with a clue (7 × 8 = 56, so 70 × 8 =) that fades out as the term goes on.
Covers (Year 5 National Curriculum and earlier): times tables to 12 × 12; doubling and halving, including decimals; using known facts to multiply and divide mentally; multiplying and dividing by 10, 100 and 1,000; number bonds to 100, 1,000 and 1 (tenths and hundredths); multiples and factors; prime numbers to 19; square and cube numbers; fraction, decimal and percentage equivalents.
