Year 8 Drama Lessons - Introduction to Issue Based Drama (Devised/T.I.E/Physical Theatre)

Fully resourced series of lessons that cover the basics of Drama for Year 8 students.

There are 5 lessons in the series however there is a costume project and a one off practical summer themed lesson so each lesson can be stretched over several lessons if required.

This includes Starter tasks, Explanation of techniques, Examples of modelling, Student Activities, homework tasks and Example Assessments/Rehearsal review sheets.

The purpose of the year 8 Drama scheme is to expand on and further embed skills learnt in year 7. There is a greater emphasis on the importance of learning lines and scenarios teach students to be aware of characters feelings and consequences of their actions. Students will be focused, mindful, creative and resilient when approaching performances. Characterisation exploration becomes more rounded and thought provoking and requires analysis. There is more emphasis on performing for genre and purpose. Design focuses upon links to genres and character types.
