Fun Personality Test/Quiz for KS2/KS3/ESL/EAL Learners!

Fun Personality Test/Quiz for KS2/KS3/ESL/EAL Learners!

This is a fun personality test that learners can use as a fun way for the teacher to get to know learners better, and learners to learn about themselves. The learners write answers to each question on their worksheet and the teacher can go through the slides 1 by 1 to reveal the true meaning of each of the answers. This has been a huge hit with younger and older learners and take approximately 30/40 minutes to complete if done properly.

Know your students WORKSHEET

Know your students WORKSHEET

A worksheet with 15 questions for your students so you can get to know them better. It’ s good practice to let your students know that you are interested in them as a person and not only as a learner. Ideal for the first day(s) of school when you still don’ t know each other well enough. Also suitable for revision of how we give personal information in English. * After the students have answered the questions you can collect their worksheets and spend some time reading the answers or asking them to guess who answered what, if they already know each other and it’ s you, the teacher, who is new in class. Why not answer the questions on the worksheet yourself and take part in the guessing game! Or you could get the students to ask you the questions as an oral follow-up activity to see how many they can remember. They love asking the teacher personal questions!

Back To School Bobbleheads (US) - a print and go activity for the first days back to school

Back To School Bobbleheads (US) - a print and go activity for the first days back to school

Back to School Bobbleheads is a fun activity to get to know your class during the first days back to school. It also provides opportunities to assess how well children can understand and follow verbal instructions - great for children with English as an additional language! The activity is in four parts: designing a head, designing a t-shirt, making a key and using their responses in the key to write about themselves. The answers your children give will create a design that is unique to them. When the activity has been completed, cut out both parts, glue together and string on bunting for an unusual classroom display. Or simply pin to a wall or notice board. The pack contains everything you need - just print and go!

OCCUPATIONS Memory cards

OCCUPATIONS Memory cards

A memory game is a funny way to learn vocabulary. School year is almost over in most of the countries. Have students review occupations while having fun, matching pictures with the correct words.Comments are appreciated. Playing the Game The first player chooses a card and carefully turns it over. Be sure not to bother the surrounding cards. The player then selects another card and turns it over. If the two cards are a matching pair for example two Jacks then they take the two cards and start a stack. The player is awarded another turn for making a match and goes again. If the cards are not a match they are turned back over and it is now the next players turn. The next player chooses their first card and turns it over. If it is a match for one of the cards the previous player turned over then they try to remember where that matching card was and turn it. If they are successful at making a match they place the cards in their stack and choose another card. If the first card turned over was not a match for one previously turned over the player selects another card in an attempt of making a pair. If they are unsuccessful in making a match they flip the cards back over and play is passed to the next player. A players turn is not over until they are unable to make a matching pair. The game continues in this fashion until all the cards are played.

Target Setting Bundle for ESOL and Entry Level Learners

Target Setting Bundle for ESOL and Entry Level Learners

In this brilliant time saving bundle you get two target banks aimed at ESOL and entry level learners inluding both academic and pastoral targets as well as templates to write out targets and review them. These are resources I've tried and tested over my teaching career. Target setting can be long and arduous and is hard work with second language learners. These target resources take the strain out of target setting allowing learners to choose their own relevant targets from a set of common areas to improve. These are commended targets that have been tried and tested in an FE environment. This bundle provides the perfect basis for a tutorial lesson on target setting as well as over 20 key targets and over 120 practical actions students can take to achieve their goals.
