A series of lessons which focus on the dramatization of the FIRST WORLD WAR. Uses Journey's End and Blackadder extracts to reveal the use of black humour to students. Drama activity included. Students encouraged to write their own World War One script in the style of selected pieces and to perform.

A resource designed to help my students understand the 20th century context of the selected poems. A grid designed for flexibility - for the students to complete and add as they wish with any relevant historical events, poetic and literary movements and the dates of famous writers. In addition- the poets from the Anthology are placed on the timeline so that students can more clearly understand the contextual background to the poems. Students found this very helpful.
