For copyright reasons I am unable to use the actual Bee Bot character as a counter so I've used superheroes instead. It can be used two ways. Use the dice which has a forward arrow, 2 half turn, 2 quarter turns and a whole turn. Alternatively children take turns in directing each other to different places on the mat.

The aim is for children to make their own alien words using a dice and the chart appropriate to the phase they are working on. There is board for Phase 2, 3 and 5 and a recording sheet. How to play: Roll the dice. Find the number you have rolled on the first box. Chose a sound and write it on your sheet under 1st. Roll it again and find the number you have rolled in the second box. Chose a sound and write it under 2nd. Roll it a last time. Find the number you have rolled in the third box. Chose a sound and write in on your sheet under 3rd. Ask your partner to read your alien word. If they can read it give them a P. If they can’t give them a X. Now its your partners turn. A fun music themed matching activity. Cut out the keyboard with the words and mix them up. Match to the correct keyboard by identifying the correct sound within the word. Could also be used as a bingo type game where the caller says the word and the players say their sound if their sound is in that word.
