Playing a Glockenspiel - Unit 2 (10 Music Lessons) Suitable for pupils in Key Stage 1 and Lower Key Stage 2. These units are not mac-friendly. Comprising of ten detailed, easy to follow music lessons; this unit builds on the skills learned in Unit 1. It reinforces how pupils play glockenspiels correctly, how to read, play and perform using lettered score. This unit teaches pupils a wider range of songs and introduces two-part harmony. Pupils also learn to use a wider range of musical terms and signs. It can be delivered to a small group of two, or as many pupils as you have. You do not have to have a musical background to teach it. These resources will support your delivery of the National Curriculum for Music. This unit focuses on Listening and Playing (National Curriculum for Music 2013). In addition, the activities also aid development of a range of wider skills including focus, team-work, performing, coordination and confidence. These creative and fun activities will get your pupils excited about music! Identifying Percussion Instruments Five, easy-to-follow, fun music lessons based around percussion instruments. Pupils learn to recognise a range of 12 percussion instruments by sight and sound. Castanets, Chime bar, Cymbal(s), Guiro, Maracas, Triangle, Bell, Cabasa, Claves, Drum, Tambourine and Woodblock. The instruments are not prescriptive, simply use whatever percussion instruments you have and follow the lesson plans. Controlling Sounds Six, easy-to-follow, practical music lessons based around exploring and creating sounds through play and responding to simple musical directions. Minimal resources required; a range of percussion instruments; simply use whatever instruments you have. Arctic-Themed Music Unit Support your pupils with learning about the Arctic in a fun, engaging and practical way. It’s Christmas! Ten original, percussion-based, Christmas-themed pieces suitable for pupils in years 5, 6, 7 and 8. Ideal for Christmas shows, carol services, reviews and Christmas-themed music lessons. Minimal resources are required, only bells, chime bars, cymbals, glockenspiels, triangles and claves/woodblocks and not all are needed for every piece! Pupils learn about the percussion family, how to play their instruments correctly, how to read, play and perform using lettered score with the option of a traditional notated music score. Pupils also learn to use range of musical terms and signs. Each piece has detailed step-by-step instructions and printable scores. In order to support your delivery, you will find MIDI file recordings of each song. You do not need a musical background to perform these compositions. Playing a Glockenspiel Units 1, 2 and 3 30 Music Lessons! These units are not mac-friendly. There are at least thirty music lessons in this unit but depending on the age an ability of your pupils, you may choose to deliver them in smaller chunks. These resources will support your delivery of the National Curriculum for Music. The musical activities in this pack focus on Listening and Playing (National Curriculum for Music 2013). In addition the activities aid the development of a range of wider skills including focus, team-work, performing, coordination and confidence. **You do not have to have a musical background to teach them. ** Unit 1 This unit of work comprising of ten detailed, easy to follow music lessons teaches pupils how to play the glockenspiel correctly, how to read and play simple tunes and songs using lettered score. Students also learn about the percussion family, tuned and untuned instruments and a range of musical terms and signs. It can be delivered to just one pupil or, as many as you have.
