A free lesson as this is a short lesson on Questionnaires. The remainder of the lesson is to prepare students for their mid-unit assessment (next lessons in the bundle.) Not suitable for everyone, but necessary for how our unit is planned.

Assessment for the 9-1 AQA Education unit. Making use of the AQA student responses online. I have added student and teacher feedback to the bottom of the assessment using the mark scheme.

Planned for the new 9-1 AQA specification. This lesson is priced low as it is mainly a research task lesson. Students begin with the usual knowledge retention quiz, followed by a key terms match up to provide them with the basic keywords for this area. Students then complete a research task which has a challenge activity built into it. The aim is to give students 2 lessons and homework to complete this. The unit so far is very writing heavy so i like to build in some independent activities. Hence the low price of the resource.

End of Unit assessment including grade boundaries.

This is a lesson that sets up 3 lessons (plus homework) for students to be grouped together to look at patterns, trends and contemporary issues within families. Students are given the question prompts and have to create a 10 minute powerpoint presentation and teaching activity. I give students 3 lessons with ICT facilities in 2 of them.

Planned for students to complete before their end of unit assessment. Also useful for revision/homework.

Lesson 9 on AQA 9-1 Specification Crime & Deviance This lesson looks at Official Statistics. It is relatively short due to the fact that a retrieval quiz happens as the first activity. Provides marketplace activities for the 3 methods of collecting crime statistics. Series of differentiated questions for the end task.

Suitable as an introductory lesson, or a revision lesson before the exams. A cheap lesson as there wasn’t a great deal of teacher input. Students complete their quiz, do keyword bingo and then answer a series of exam questions. I like students to take a question at a time, mark a peers answer and then I live write in the powerpoint as the class create the perfect answer-including literacy! I then print the slides after the lesson and they stick these into their books.

A small assessment that encourages students to apply both skills and knowledge to the research methods unit.

A lesson looking at Ann Oakley and the conventional family. There are some slides looking at the effects of the pressure of living a conventional lifestyle can have have on wellbeing such as financial implications, mental health issues etc. Students complete the proforma and comprehension questions.

Lesson 2 on AQA 9-1 Specification Crime & Deviance This lesson looks at social order and social rules. It briefly touches on the main sociological theories but the lesson centres on the agencies of social control. Differentiated exam questions at the end Please leave a review

A lesson that looks at longitudinal studies with a focus on the series seven Up! Students read through a resource and consider why this study is useful before learning about what a longitudinal study is. There is the option to show them the documentary, with some comprehension style questions. The end activity in a knowledge retrieval quiz which is part of the scheme of work.

A lesson that looks at ethical issues, covers experiments in light of what ethical issues they pose and why they are rarely used in Sociological research followed by a consolidation task in which students evaluate all of the research methods covered in the unit. Lesson 4 on AQA 9-1 Specification Crime & Deviance This lesson looks at the functions of crime based on the Functionalist perspective. I have found video clips to support each of the functions of crime. Students also complete a gap filler and differentiated exam questions Please leave a review

This is a double lesson if the whole of the documentary is watched. The lesson combines looking at the changing relationship between parents and their children, and the relationships with the wider family. 4 mark exam question to finish.

Lesson 10 on AQA 9-1 Specification Crime & Deviance This lesson looks at why there is a difference between the social classes and their involvement in crime. There is a 45 minute documentary link attached to one of the slides, that is not essential but a good alternative.
