We have a look at the historic period between 1900 and 1939, leading to the Spanish Civil War. We review the main events in the moder monarchy through a timeline. We learn the meaning of relevant terms, have a brief look at the Spanish Civil War, we look at Franco’s dictatorship, the monarchy in Spain since 1975, the coup attempt in 1981 and finally we learn about Fidel Casto, Augusto Pinochet and Nicolas Maduro.

The ppts, contain many links to videos and articles, both in English and Spanish, and comprehension exercises and questions to encourage discussion of the topics covered.

Set of 4 ppts to aid the teaching and studying of the AQA A’Level Spanish Y13 Theme 3 Unit 1 “La Inmigraci’on”. The different ppts explore causes and effects of migration, as well as focusing on current cases such as the crossing of the border at Ceuta and Melilla, Trump’s Mexican Wall, La Caravana from Honduras and Guatemala and the rescue ship “Open Arms”. This is done through links to videos and articles and statements and questions to encourage discussion.

Set of 4 ppts to aid the teaching and learning of the AQA A’Level Spanish Y13 Theme 3 Multiculturalism in Hispanic Society, Unit Unit 3 “La Convivencia”. The different ppts explore how Islamism, Christianism and Judeism cohabited in the Iberian peninsula from the 8th to the 15th centuries, and how that peaceful cohabitation came to an end with the arrival of Los Reyes catolicos. Secondly we learn about the integration of migrant children in Spanish schools. We also learn about the 2 main fights for independentism in Spain, “el separatismo vasco and ETA” and “el nacionalismo catalan and el referendum”. Finally we look at what the Spanish Constitution says about the relation between the State and the different religions, as well as the initiative “Rezo Interreligioso”, which promotes religious integration.

Complete set of 36 revision mats, covering the 12 units of the whole AQA A’Level Spanish curriculum. Titles such as “La Influencia de la Iglesia Católica”, “La Inmigración Legal en España” or “La Efectividad de las Huelgas” make up this complete set. Each colourful revision mat contains several questions posed to the students, each of them with a set of prompts to aid in the developing of an answer, but also to guide them on their independent research of the topic. Carefully selected pictures help the students to retain information. Though these mats are created for revision, they can also be used in conversation with an FLA or as part of the lesson.
