About
Neil MacKay is an independent consultant and trainer who originated the phrase and the concept “Dyslexia Friendly Schools. He works with teachers to increase awareness and develop classroom based strategies to support dyslexic learners. Neil works with LAs across UK and also teaches groups of parents and children to improve basic skills. He trains teachers in Hong Kong and Singapore and is international consultant for the Dyslexia Foundation of New Zealand
His first book was “Removing Dyslexia as a Barrier to Achievement” and his latest book, “Leading on the Inclusion Development Programme” was published in October 2009. He is a contributor to “Dyslexia – Successful Inclusion in the Secondary School” by Peer and Reid, “Dyslexia in Context – Research Policy and Practice” by Reid and Fawcett and “The Routledge Companion to Dyslexia” Ed. Gavin Reid. Neil also wrote much of the BDA “Dyslexia Friendly Schools” pack.
