Flip learning independent task with linked videos which serves as an introduction to topic 4 from the AQA biology syllabus. PowerPoint serves as a quick picture based intro to the task to help the teacher introduce the task. The teacher can explain how each picture can be used as a guide to the knowledge required in this part of the course. The task then includes clear instructions on short stuctured tasks which students can complete to ‘flip learn’ this small introductory portion of topic 4. Ideally students will use textbooks/online notes alongside the videos provided to help their research.

A detailed pack containing PPT, worked examples, worksheet pack, answers and optional extension work for gifted students. Plus optional class practical if you have access to PTC and other tasting papers. The PPT containts links to summary videos, links to practice problems, worked examples and problems for the whole class to complete and links to a couple of Quizizzs class quizzes (just like Kahoot) that can be used as a whole class quiz or set as a homework task. A comprehensive lesson pack on human gas exchange. The PPT contains a structured lesson and activities to complete in the structured notes and task booklet. There is also a pack of past AQA exam questions a diagram of the structures for students to annotate and an extension/creative writing task (called Olaf the oxygen molecule) for prep or for more capable students to have a go at with a guide mark scheme. When giving the ‘Olaf’ task I have had students do amazing creative writing, make board games or story boards. It’s a great chance to get them thinking outside of the box. Some students choose to create a flow diagram which is a simple way to show they have the knowledge needed.
