I'm currently employed as a Subject Leader of Religious Education, Philosophy and Ethics at an outstanding grammar school. I am currently reading a PhD in Philosophy, having obtained an MA in Philosophy of Religion and and a BA in Philosophy. The resources I create and sell are those I use myself. I aim for my lessons to include a range of activities and for students to not only learn about my subject, but find doing so interesting.

This lesson is the third of four lessons on ethics, which culminates in an Edexcel GCSE-Style assessment. Though designed as a sequence each lesson can be taught without the others. The scheme of work was designed for a particularly gifted year 8 set however, would definitely be suitable for all of KS3 and KS4. This lesson could easily last two hours. It investigates the development of Utilitariansim as an ethical theory, exploring both Act and Rule Utilitariansim. It examines how both forms of the theory are applied and their comparative strengths and weaknesses. Please leave a review for this lesson.
