I have had great feedback from colleagues about my resources. Some of them are free and some are available to download, alter and use for a small download fee. Hopefully it will save people time! I love teaching and I love making resources. I make resources to use myself, ones that are useful! I have been teaching for a long time. I have taught from reception all the way up- every year group. But my specialist and favourite areas are Years 5 and 6 and my favourite subject is English

HYPHENS - word bank of hyphenated words KS2 (grammar and writing)(Alphabet list)

During moderation, using HYPHENS was one area of writing most of my children always found hard to ‘tick off’. So to help them I compiled this hyphenated word bank. I left a space in each letter so they could add words of their own to it. But having them in front of them has definitely helped them to get hyphenated words in to their writing more. Some of them had to be explained to them for meaning, but now they love trying to fit some of the more unusual ones in to their writing. They also add words from their reading books to the list. I found this very useful as there isn’t much on hyphens out there to help us teachers! Enjoy! I created this pack to use with my class next week for a whole school RE day with a Christmas theme. It could be done over several lessons though. There is a clear and easy to follow lesson plan. A powerpoint which clearly follows the plan A worksheet There are great creative links to art and design and lots of whole class discussions/whiteboard activities etc. I have just updated this Powerpoint and improved it slightly to use this year with my class across a few days. Please feel free to use/change as you need.

Year 6 writing moderation grids - child friendly (progression in writing/grammar)

(1)
I made these grids similar to the moderation sheets we use as teachers, but child friendly with pictures and examples to help the children understand what to look for in their writing. My children use these effectively and it also helps my teacher assessment and their understanding. It may help new year 6 teachers too! Unit of Work Based on Mr Gum by Andy Stanton Years 3 and 4

I am sharing a unit of work I made based on 'You're a Bad Man Mr Gum' by Andy Stanton. My Year 3s loved this and said it was their favourite work they did all year. I have included loads of Notebook Files. 5 weeks worth of planning, pictures, activities, a who wants to be a millionaire game based on the book that I made and loads of self assessment checklists. Adapt as needed and enjoy!

I made this for my classroom and it has been really successful. We have printed it on A3 paper and laminated it and it is displayed in the classroom. During the week, I choose 5 words that lots of the class are getting wrong. Under the tick I write the correct spelling and under the cross some of the incorrect spellings for that word children have used. I hope others find it as useful as my class have.

We did a whole school RE day (incarnation) We looked at the question 'What is the true meaning of Christmas?' Here is the notebook file I used. It was a really successful day and I hope somebody else can use some of it. We made some great adverts as a result of it.

R.E- Exploring and discussing religious art KS2-3 whole lesson with activities and presentation

This is a complete lesson with notebook file and activities. The learning objective is- To explore and discuss religious art There is an activity sheet and resources including a notebook file that forms the whole lesson for you. This is a whole lesson. I used this with a mixed year 5/6 class for an observation by the head and a governor who said the lesson was 'outstanding' in old OFSTED terms! It worked well and the children enjoyed it.
