One hundred questions in 60 minutes. This quiz can be done individually; in pairs or in groups depending on the size of the A Level class. It enables students to revise the content of the Year 12 course through competition, and is fun as an end of term activity. I often give prizes to the students who score the highest, although I have never had a 100% success yet!!! The questions are challenging and require 1 word/one sentence answers. Answers are included for self-assessment. This resource assesses and consolidates student knowledge while they are having fun.

This is the seventh lesson in an 8 lesson scheme of learning for key stage 3 on the Industrial Revolution. It involves research into how the social conditions in the cities during the industrial revolution aided criminals and made solving crime very difficult for the police. Students are required to consider a variety of sources to reach a judgment in an extended writing task. All sources and the writing frame are included within the power point for copying. This could also be used as a GCSE resource to support the teaching of the historic environment on the crime and punishment unit. No text book is needed.

This is a detailed historiography lesson which interrogates the evidence for whether Mary Tudor really deserved her title ‘bloody.’ It takes about two hours to teach and tests skills and knowledge. The resource contains 3 quizzes/word searches: The First World War The Second World War The Cold War There are also 3 differentiated searches for lower prior attaining students where the letter at the beginning of each word is highlighted in the grid so that this becomes more of a heads and tails activity. I have found using these useful revision/extension/remote learning resources. It is also useful for GCSE knowledge revision.
