Learn how to lead your classroom with confidence
Congratulations! You’ve made the decision to get into teaching and play your part in inspiring the next generation.
We’re excited to welcome you to the teaching community – there’s a lot to learn and we’re here to help. Your first step is to gain the subject knowledge and confidence you need to effectively teach your chosen subject to a classroom full of students! Can you spark excitement and a passion for knowledge while ensuring you’re teaching to the curriculum? With the help of our SKE course you can.
Build subject knowledge and develop teaching skills
During your course you’ll gain in-depth and up-to-date knowledge of your chosen subject and learn the fundamental building blocks of teaching. You’ll gain skills such as how to build lesson plans, develop knowledge around essential concepts and learn how to evaluate your own practice and that of your students.
Get DfE funding if SKE is set as a condition of your ITT offer
Your full time programme will consist of 25 hours of learning a week, and if your chosen subject is one of the 10 funded by the DfE, you'll receive a bursary of up to £175 per week to support you with your study. View our course page for further eligibility requirements and part-time options.
Learn 100% online, supported by experienced teachers
With our 100% online programme you can study flexibly, fitting learning around your other commitments.
You’ll be assigned a pathway tutor who will support you throughout your programme. All our tutors are current or past teachers with a wealth of knowledge and experience.
Your SKE will be tailored to your needs. Your pathway tutor can assign extra sessions around the areas you find most challenging so you get the very most out of your programme.
