(New AQA) Lesson 13: Coastal Management
This is a case study lesson about the coastal management of Newbiggin by the Sea, Northumberland. To start students have to spot the difference between the two photographs. Students have already had a lesson about coastal management but to consolidate their learning they need to match the correct engineering technique to the name. Students are then to carousel around the classroom collecting information from each station about the different techniques used at Newbiggin by the Sea. Once the information has been collected students are to use the information to answer an exam question; explain, using a case study, how the coast has been managed, using a variety of example paragraphs and key words to support their answer. To end the lesson students need to evaluate which management technique was most effective at Newbiggin and give reasons why.
