(New AQA) Lesson 7: Hurst Castle Spit
This lesson is explaining the formation of a spit, Hurst Castle, as well as developing student map skills. To start students sort the picture cards into a sequence of what happens first and match each picture card to a statement card. Students must then explain how the spit was formed using the map and by completing the missing words. From this students can work independently on the reading of Ordnance Survey maps and photos, by answering the questions that are asked. They can also complete a variety of questions about 4 and 6-figure grid reference as well as practicing drawing sketch maps.
