Students start the lesson with a 1 and 2 mark GCSE question quiz on Christian beliefs and practices, then discuss and investigate the role of the Church in the local community, with a focus on food banks and street pastors. Students are introduced to these two types of community project with brief videos, and then they are provided with a double-sided sheet of questions that they have to find the answers to using three A3 resources on the Trussell Trust, Street Pastors (Ascension Trust) and Parish Nursing. They also need to complete a 2 and 5 mark question.

LOs: To understand and investigate the different ways the Church makes a positive contribution to the local community, including food banks and street pastors.
